Banners are made and raised to get the attention of people. They are used as a sign of victory, a sign of power, or a sign of loyalty. In our Old Testament lesson for today we read that the Root of Jesse will stand as a banner for all people. All nations will rally to this banner and it will be a place of rest and it will be glorious.
